Promotion As a Factor Of Foreign Policy: USA Foreign Policy and Hollywood Example, Master, Ankara, 2007.As it comes to considering the power and the effect of the state concept, the foreign factors affecting the states attitudes within the international arena, the traditions and instincts defining these attitudes and their capacities have been a significant field of investigation throughout every historical period.When state centered system is thought the last 200 years is somewhat illustrated as history of sates. Their state structures, qualification and even their definitions have changed according to the historical conditions. Likewise foreign policies and factors have also displayed differences . These foreign policies are the ones which find their path with the aim and qualification of the state concept.The period after the cold war has brought together the alteration is their foreign policies. The globalization in particular has brought together the new discussions related to the one oriented political system affecting the states? concept in international relations and the role of this concept.The most outstanding one in these argument is questioning the properties states? being the unique actors in international system.Together with this, states? present application of foreign policies and decision and the factors affecting these have been in consideration. With the aim of making evalutions in the concrete basis, the concept `?actor?? has been referred to in foreign policy, relations and national state.The conceptb `?policy?? is used to express the states? relation to society with its individual citizen and institution while foreign policy is used for defining the states? relations with the international system and other political units.Nevertheless before searching fort eh idea `?foreign policy?? we have to calarify what is `?state?? or what is `?national state?? Since, in the perspective of the study it is the philosophy and the prospects of `?national state?? that will direct the subjects to be discussed.These considerations mainly reflect the conventional foreign policies and international political attitudes. However, today political sciences and international relations disciplines have also started to research more different areas.The factors as post modern attirudes in `?policy??, communication technologies and globalization have altered the research area of `?foreign policy concept??. One of these aspects is `?promotion?? to affect the public opinion to realize the political decision, the promotion and comminication activities aiming these have gained importance. The most outstanding applicant of this process in `?The World Policy?? is probably the USA.The script fictions in Hollywood films, the themes subjected in characterization and all similar prcesses are in the quality of serving the USA to her being the super power.In this study, viewing the foreign policy process from a different aspect the promotion in relations to foreign policy is worked on the USA foeign policy and Hollywood Example.
