The effects of foreign trade enterprises's financial derivatives product usage on the performance of the company: A research on Marmara Region

Abstract (EN)

In this study, the usage of financial derivative products and the effects of the usage of these products on the firm performance of enterprises are investigated in detail. Purpose of the research is determining the financial superiority of the related companies through financial derivative contracts; in order to hedge the financial risks in the markets in which the related companies are frequently exposed. In the reasearch; the scale was used to measure the financial and growth performance of foreign trade firms's international activities besides the financial risk management of the firms. All these analyses were carried out with a comprehensive research on 402 foreign exporters operating in Marmara Region. Structural Equation Model was worked in this application. As a result of the research; It has been observed that the international activities of foreign trade enterprises have a direct and positive effect on business revenues and profitability. In addition; the use of derivative products of firms; It has been determined that financial risk management partially contributes to potential benefits, positive and direct effect on efficiency in international activities, and does not increase firm performance by affecting the efficiency of the enterprise.
