Abstract (EN)

Increasing trade activities between countries enhance importance of payment methods in foreign trade. International trade and banking sector feed on each other. The main purpose of this study is to examine that the impacts of changing payment methods in foreign trade on banking sector. It has been performed an analyzing through using Turkey's datas which are released by TUIK. In the study; obtained results show that today changing payment methods in foreign trade have no impact on banking. Being a new payment method in foreign trade, bank payment obligation has not been using by all of the commerical banks in Turkey yet. Crypto currencies, bank payment obligation and their effects on banking, is not observed compared to other traditional payment methods in foreign trade. However, in the future, it is stated that with the developments in crypto and digital currencies will have an impact on banking. With the possibility of integrating new generation systems into banking, it is thought that their effects can be seen. The fact that in foreing trade import and export documents being safe through banks continue keeping banking a central position in foreing trade. Keywords:Foreign trade, Payment methods, Banking.
