The importance of logistics in foreign trade and the effect of new logistics practices on foreign trade in azerbaijan

In this thesis, it is aimed to examine the importance of logistics in foreign trade and the effect of new logistics applications on foreign trade in Azerbaijan.In the first part of the research, the importance of logistics in foreign trade was mentioned, the activities of logistics were discussed and the literature review of the researches on the relationship between foreign trade and logistics was made. In the second part, general information about Azerbaijan was given, the foreign trade structure of Azerbaijan was examined and the investments made in the logistics infrastructure were highlighted. In the third section, the data collected through interviews with top managers and logistics experts of eight logistics companies serving in the logistics sector of Azerbaijan were subjected to descriptive analysis. In addition, SWOT analysis was made in the logistics sector of Azerbaijan, and the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats in the sector were shown. As a result of the SWOT analysis, solution suggestions were given to the weak points. As a result of the descriptive analysis evaluation, the importance of logistics was emphasized and it was determined that the new logistics applications in Azerbaijan had a positive effect on foreign trade. At the same time, it has been concluded that the predictions that this sector will develop further, even though there are some deficiencies in the country, are positive and these ideas are supported by government programs. The results obtained from this research will be beneficial both for the literature and for the logistics companies that are and will be in the sector.
