Abstract (EN)

After the Second World War, foreign trade transactions gained momentum with the collapse of the blocs in the world and the globalization phenomenon that emerged in addition to this. On the other hand, due to the freight problem experienced all over the world during the Covid 19 Pandemic period, changes were observed in the delivery methods in foreign trade. The Ex-Work delivery method, which was not known by foreign trade companies until the Pandemic period, gained value during this period and emerged as an alternative payment method that could solve the freight problem for companies that sell the goods subject to foreign trade. A regional-oriented examination of the changing payment and delivery methods in foreign trade that emerged during the pandemic period is important in terms of both determining the regional economy and foreign trade potential and guiding foreign trade firms. From this point of view, the main purpose of this thesis is to reveal the contribution of companies operating in foreign trade in Aksaray Organized Industrial Zone to the Turkish economy, to determine their export and import potential, and to examine foreign trade delivery and payment methods. In this study, a questionnaire was applied to the senior executives of 70 different companies, including the leading companies in the sector, which carry out active foreign trade activities in Aksaray province, through face-to-face interviews and a quantitative study was carried out by analyzing the data obtained with SPSS 22 program. As a result of the research, it was concluded that the region of export and import affects the payment and delivery methods. Accordingly, a significant and positive relationship was found between cash payment method and import volume in Far Eastern countries and between cash payment method and export volume in EU countries. On the other hand, while the most frequently used payment methods in imports and exports are cash payment and letter of credit, the rate of cash payment in exports is much higher than in imports.
