The reasons for preference of organizing companies in the process of marriage: Sakarya province sample

Due to the developing technology and the phenomenon of globalization, the concept of change takes place in all spheres of our lives today. As a result of social and cultural change, factors such as women's increased participation in the workforce, increased level of education, urbanization and social media have altered the lifestyles, needs and consumption patterns of individuals. In this study, the reasons of the preference of the increasing number of organizing companies which are needed more in recent years as a consequence of the change in the lifestyle of individuals by the couples who are in the process of wedding preparation are investigated. In this study, the reasons for preferences of the organization companies for the couples in the marriage preparation process, whether these reasons differ according to gender and whether the findings were confirmed by the organization company officials were investigated. In addition, it is aimed to obtain and provide information for the organization companies and the sector. In this context, within the period of November 2018 to April 2019 a survey was applied by the convenience sampling method to 161 participants who preferred the organizing companies through the marriage process. Data analysis was performed using SPSS version 20 software. When the findings were examined, the results indicate that the first reason for preference of organizing companies for the couples was their "experience" in the field. When investigated whether it varies by gender to prefer organizing companies; it is seen that the first reason for women's preference of organizing companies is the notion that "You only marry once, so you want it to be perfect", as for men, the first reason is the "experience" companies provide.
