Analysis of duha prayer narrations

Worship in Islâm can be categorized under two Maîn parts. The first part are the obligatories; the second part are the voluntaries. The voluntary worships act as a completement and protector of the obligatories; it has a great effect on the practice of Islâm. One of these voluntary worships is the duhâ prayer which can be performed shortly before the afternoon prayer. Our thesis consists of an introduction, three Maîn chapters and a conclusion. In the introduction, information are provided about the importance of the topic, it's aim and method. In the first chapter, in order to understand the use of the word "duhâ" in the arab and jahiliyya periods (before Islâm); first the semântic analysis of the word duhâ then its use in the Qur'an and hadîth were pointed out. In the second chapter, the following questions were analysed; did the Prophet (PbuH) perform this prayer or not? How? How many times and it's virtue. In the third chapter, the authenticity of the duhâ prayer was analysed relying on the available narrations. Finally, it was analyzed; how often did the Prophet (PbuH) perform this prayer and it's judgement according the four Islâmic schools were pointed out.
