Abstract (EN)

The modern age draws people into the trap of secularization as never before and does not allow them to contemplate the real purpose of life and to live their lives in line with their beliefs. The aim of the thesis is to create an awareness of worldliness for people who look at life from the perspective of the Qur'an. The thesis consists of three parts. In the first part, the concepts of world, worldliness and secularism were examined. In the second part, in the context of the creation of human and the relation-ship between human and Allah, the elements that guide the person in the life of the world were discussed in terms of reason, prophets and holy books. In the third part, the ayahs of the Qur'an about worldly life and worldly love were examined under the title of earthly life and worldliness according to the Qur'an, the factors leading to secularization were discussed in two parts, internal and external. The warnings made to individuals and societies against secularization in the Qur'an were evaluated. The protective factors against worldliness were listed and discussed, respectively, as faith, hijra, devotions, transactions, uqûbât and Islamic fellowship. Afterwards, it was discussed how the worldly person can save him or herself from this vortex. The methods applied in the history of Islam were researched and the importance of the hijra was emphasized, especially by evaluating the effects of the environment. The literature review method was used in the thesis. Commentaries, dictionar-ies and academic studies were used. In the conclusion part, the information obtained as a result of the research was evaluated. Keywords: Qur'an, Tafsir, World, Worldliness, Secularism
