Changes in world trade: China-USA trade war and special effects in Turkey

Trade is one of the most fundamental phenomena in human life since ancient times. While the barter economy was dominant in ancient times, later on, with the discovery of money, trade in today's sense began. Trade started to be made on a much larger scale, especially after the industrial revolution when production increased. The development of trade has led thinkers on this issue to think about the ideal trade order. The founders of economics, Adam Smith and David Ricardo, were the first to introduce free trade theories. While the states put forward protectionist policies in times of economic depression, it is seen that the economy mostly applies pro-liberalization policies in times of expansion. Today, it is observed that protectionist policies cause trade wars. In this thesis, while trade theories, trade policies and the process leading to GATT-World Trade Organization as a step of globalization are explained, sanctions of the current trade war between China and the USA and Turkey's impressed with the extent to which this war is dealt with current data.
