Central banks in the world: Comparison of USA, EU and Turkey Republic Central Banks

One of the most important institutions that contribute to price stability and the functioning of the economy in a certain order in today's contemporary countries is undoubtedly central banks. Central banks have made significant progress from past to present. Central banks, which were generally established in the past to accelerate war financing and the economic development process of countries, have evolved towards a more functional structure today. Within the scope of this study, the comparison between the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) and the Central Bank of America (FED) and the European Central Bank (ECB) was examined. As a result of the analysis, it is possible to say that when the CBRT and the FED are compared, they are two very different central banks. They differ greatly from each other in many ways, from the amount of money controlled to the unique structure of banks. When the ECB and the CBRT are compared, it is possible to say that there are some similarities, especially in monetary policies. Independence, transparency and accountability are the most basic elements when comparing the CBRT and the ECB. The main criterion for the ECB is independence. It has been determined that the CBRT has a more flexible structure in terms of transparency, accountability and transparency, while the ECB has a more closed structure. Considering the purpose and problems of the research, a study in the source scanning model, one of the qualitative research methods, was preferred. By examining the data in the literature regarding the practices of central banks, which constitute the title of the research, the differences were tried to be determined.
