Casting industry in the world and Turkey: Turkish casting industry firm concentration analysis and market structure

The casting industry has a stategic importance in the development of developed and developing countries industries. The fact that the sector is so important causes conflicts between countries and many countries go to protect their own casting industry by applying trade sanctions. In addition to commercial decisions, developed countries in the casting market. It is observed that in order to maintain it's place in this competitive enviroment experienced in the world in the Turkish casting industry, it is necessary to take various measures against the Trade sanctions applied by the countries as well as to follow the technological innovations. In this context, the position of the Turkish casting industriy in the world, the level of concentration in the domestic market and the market structure were examined. Our empirical study for the subject analysis includes the 2013- 2020 periods. N firm concentration ratio, Relative entropy, Herlfindahl- Hirschman and Linda indices were used in the calculation. As a result of the analysis, it has been determined that the calculation in the Turkish casting sector is low, there is competition and the sector is in an oligopoly structure.
