The mediating role of psychological well-being in the relationship between emotional labor and intention to leave: A field survey

Özet (EN)

The aim of this study is to examine the mediating role of psychological well-being in the relationship between emotional labor and intention to leave. In this context, 3 models were created for the relationships proposed in the study. In the first model, the mediation of psychological well-being was examined in the relationship between surface acting which is a sub-dimension of emotional labor, and intention to leave. Secondly, the mediating role of psychological well-being was examined in the relationship between in deep acting of emotional labor and intention to leave and finally, the mediating role of psychological well-being was examined in the relationship between genuine acting, which is a sub-dimension of emotional labor, and intention to leave. The data of the study were collected from 250 sales consultants working in Çorum. When the results of the analysis are examined, it has been determined that psychological well-being has a mediating role in the relationship between genuine acting and intention to leave, which is one of the sub-dimensions of emotional labor; It was found that genuine acting increased psychological well-being, and increased psychological well-being decreased the intention to leave. At the end of the study according to the results obtained, suggestions were made for both future studies and applications in management.
