Analysis of the relation between level of emotional intelligence and job satisfaction: A case study

Abstract (EN)

In this study, nurses working in a private hospital in Ankara is working universe. It is aimed to analysis the relationship between emotional intelligence and job satisfaction. Study population are included 118 nurses working in the institution. 103 nurses who accept to participate in this research and give an answer to poll questions, are accepted the sample. The validity and reliability of data collection as a means of emotional intelligence model 3 were obtained. These are: Mayer and Salovey's Versatile Emotional Intelligence Scale prepared, prepared by Reuven Bar-On Model of Emotional Intelligence, Daniel Goleman's Emotional Intelligence Model is prepared is. In each of these models of emotional intelligence that they deal with in the questionnaire is divided into sections according to the field. The researcher also obtained as a result of 6 years professional experience with the contribution of information and other scientific research questionnaire was created to measure emotional intelligence questionnaire. Minnesota Job Satisfaction Scale and job satisfaction in Turkey to measure job satisfaction, which has been created for the research by examining the survey questions. The data obtained were analyzed using SPSS 20.0 program. The major findings of the research result of this is as follows:Nurses with a total emotional intelligence levels were found to be a significant relationship between job satisfaction.Nurses employed by the company's level of emotional intelligence, gender, marital status, educational status, duration, working unit, working methods, and differ according to variables such as has been found.Job satisfaction of nurses employed by the company of age, gender, marital status, educational status, duration, type of work has been determined not differ according to variables such as. However, in terms of unit is a significant difference between nurses' job satisfaction levels were determined.Self-awareness, self management, motivation, empathy and social competence in nurses' job satisfaction levels have been found to be higher in a meaningful way.Accepted as basic elements of job satisfaction, autonomy, work itself, the task's importance, his colleagues, communication, personal and professional development, physical facilities and services have been identified as a significant relationship between nurses emotional intelligence levels.
