Abstract (EN)

As well as the companies socializing more and more and in need of socialized individuals, the universities preparing the youth for future life should benefit from the advantages of emotional intelligence factor. Because, if universities which are the last step before professional work life, are sensitive to this factor, the individuals graduating will be more and more concious about managing the relationship in their personal and work lives. In this context, job satisfaction, the academical staff of the universities get from their job, is of great importance both for the staff themselves and for the students who are at the brink of work life.This research has been carried out to find whether there is a positive relationship between the emotional intelligence of the academical staff and their job satisfaction. In the research, in addition to the effect of demographic variables on both factors (EQ and job satisfaction),the relationship between total emotional intelligence and total job satisfation has been questioned, as well.The research consists of four parts. The first part deals with the emotional intelligence on the basis of a related literature review; the second part deals with the concept of job satisfaction or the motivation on the basis of a related literature review; the third part deals with the relationship between emotional intelligence and job satisfaction on the basis of a related literature review; the fourth and the last part deals with a research on a 189 participants among the staff of Celal Bayar University in Turkey.
