Abstract (EN)

Keywords: Municipal Wastewater, Biological Treatment Plant, Microbiological Removal, Düzce. It is obvious that the environment polluted unrecoverably by discharging untreatened municipal wastewater into receiving media. Microbiological pollution is an important parameter of this problem and poses a threat to human health. Because they contain a wide variety of pathogens, may cause infectious diseases in case discharging receiving media without any treatment. Some of these diseases are: Typho, Dysenteria, Cholerae, Polio and diseases caused by protozoa. The pathogen microorganizms removed considerably due to biological treatment plants. So harmful impacts of wastewater on receiving media can be decreased. In this study determined the microbiological load by measuring income wastewater through the Biological Treatment Plant of Düzce and treatened wastewater out of the treatment plant. The measurements based on four bacteria (Fecal Escherichia coli, Fecal Streptecocci, Salmonella spp., Shigella spp.) in order to determine rate of microbiological removal.
