Abstract (EN)

The Turkish furniture industry generally included from small and mediumscale firms. This industry formed the important industrial branch of Turkey?sgrowing and techologically developing side of today. Because of the function ofbeing final product, the furniture industry is to be evaluated in the scope ofdurable consumption good and based on creativity and conception power.Therefore it is defined as fashion sector.Forest products industry and its sub-sector furniture industry, which had aportion of 5 % in Turkish Manufacturing Industry, had to be compete againstinternational competing milieu with low technology and managership problemsbecause of opening up to world markets. Most of the furniture sector enterprisecan not compete against EU countries. It is determined that most of the enterprisein sector were disorganized and were not watching the technologic developmentsclosely.In this study, the feasibility study of a factory producing panel furniturein Düzce were presented. In the study, product models and quantities weredetermined by examining the sector and demand situation. Optimum costedmachine selection and and factory plan were prepared due to models and theiridemand situations. By the evaluation of Investment costs, inteprise expendituresand incomes, it was detemined that the investment was beneficial either for theinvestor or for the country economy as well. For increasing economicdevelopment and employment such investments and productions had a crucialrole.Key Words: Feasibility, Panel furniture production, Investment project,Furniture industry
