Determining the causes of waste at Duzce construction sitesand solution methods with lean construction applications

As in all countries' economies, the construction sector has a say in the Turkish economy. Since the construction sector affects many different areas, it is the locomotive sector. It has an important effect on meeting the needs of people and maintaining their lives. In this study, the reasons that cause waste and increase inefficiency in Turkish construction sites are analyzed. Waste causes problems in our country as well as in the whole world. Problems such as increasing costs, compromising quality and not providing the right customer service stand out. In order to eliminate waste, the necessity and importance of Lean Construction, which can be considered as a new production model in the construction sector, is increasing. The purpose of lean construction is to determine the causes that cause waste, and to eliminate the activities that do not add value in the process. The necessity and importance of the principles and principles of lean construction has been proven by many studies. In this study, the reasons for the waste occurring in Düzce construction sites were determined and analyzed to what extent they were affected and compared with other studies. Opinions of mostly civil engineers and architects, who are active in their fields, have been taken into consideration. Along with the reasons for waste, solutions are also offered.
