Abstract (EN)

Generally, some holes are drilled due to the facility needs at buildings. On the other hand, the behavior of the beam after these drilling operations was not investigated. Before this study, beams with one or more than one hole were investigated. Due to no investigation on the beams consisting of purposefully and systematically located holes, it is planned to make an investigation on the subject, in the Structural Mechanics Laboratories of Gazi University. In the study, blank geometry, X reinforcement material and arrangement and longitudinal reinforcement ratio are taken as variables. This thesis includes a part of these researches. In this study, three geometry wise identical reference experiment beams, three circular and three square web opened beams, totally nine beams are subjected to testing under monotonous loading. The experimental results are analysed in terms of ductility, strength and rigidity parameters. Low and medium reinforcement applied circular web opened beams shows more ductile behaviour than referance beams. High reinforcement applied beams ductility, strength and bending rigidity properties are worse than referance beams. In the light of experiment results, low or medium level reinforcement applied, regularly and identically drilled and X reinforced circular web opened beams shows better results than regularly and identically drilled square web opened beams.
