Abstract (EN)
The aim of this research is to examine the effect of pilates exercise in adult women who regularly do pilates according to self-esteem and body satisfaction situations, sports, education status, income status, purpose of doing sports, age variables. In addition, examining the relationship between self-esteem and body satisfaction of the individuals who make up the research group is one of the aims of this research. 515 adult women residing in Turkey and between the ages of 18-54 participated in the research voluntarily. In this research, the general screening model was used. In order to measure the self-esteem levels of the individuals participating in the study, the self-esteem scale made by Çuhadaroğlu (1986), and the adaptation to Turkish developed by Secord and Jourard (1953) were used by Hovardaoğlu (1993) to measure body satisfaction. Statistical analysis was carried out using the SPSS 22 package program. Oneway Anova, T-Test, Pearson coleration Test, Post Hoc tests were applied in the analysis of the data. The significance level for all statistical analyses was accepted as p>0.05. Conclusion, according to the research results, it has been observed that there is a significant difference between the score averages, obtained from the self esteem scale, of the women who exercise pilates and those who don't in terms of the state of working out, the educational background and income level, yet there isn't a significant difference between the score averages obtained from the self esteem scale in terms of the purpose of working out and the age group. It has been observed that there is a significant difference between the score averages, obtained from the body satisfaction scale, of the women who exercise pilates and those who don't in terms of the state of working out and the income level, yet there isn't a significant difference between the score averages obtained from the body satisfaction scale in terms of the purpose of working out, the educational background and the age group. It has been found out that there is a positively high significant correlation between the self esteem and body satisfaction.
