Abstract (EN)

In this study, it is aimed to assess the weight calculation of the planar steel roofs, the parameters affecting the weight and the prediction of the weight by means of intelligent systems. Based on the previous research reports and several expert opinions, 6 main parameters that are expected to influence the results were evaluated. These are; snow load area, roof type, roof slope, steel type, purlin opening and truss opening. Based on these parameters we established 192 different calculation models. Each of these models differs from the other as at least one parameter size. SAP2000 program was used to perform the analysis of these calculation models and the design was created based on AISC-ASD 360-10 regulation. Weights of all calculation models are noted in tables and to what extent the parameters affect the weight of the planar steel roofs were determined. Then, intelligent systems that are commonly used in the literature were used to investigate whether the roof weight can be determined quickly and precisely to the actual result. The relationship between 5 different intelligent systems and 192 calculated weight values analyzed in this new configuration. As a result, the most influential parameters among the selected parameters were found as snow load area, roof type, purlin opening, truss opening, steel strength and roof slope respectively. In addition, the results obtained through intelligent systems were compared with the actual values and significant correlation found for artificial neural network (ANN) system.
