Investigation of digital game addiction and cognitive behavioral physical activities levels of e-sports players

In this study, digital game addiction and cognitive behavioral physical activities of e-sports players were examined, and the effects of cognitive behavioral physical activities of players on digital game addictions were investigated. 378 e-sports players in 48 provinces where licensed e-sports players are active in Turkey participated in this research, which was carried out with quantitative research method and relational scanning model. The analyzes of the data obtained from the personal information form, the Cognitive Behavioral Physical Activity Scale and the Digital Game Addiction scales used in the research were carried out with the "Independent Sample t-Test", "One Way ANOVA", "Pearson Correlation Coefficient" and "Multiple Linear Regression Analysis" tests. Within the scope of the research, it was determined that there is a negative and significant relationship between the total value of cognitive behavioral physical activity and the digital game addiction value (Table 5). It was determined that the total value of cognitive behavioral physical activity was significantly in favor of women (Table 7), and the digital game addiction levels of single e-sports players were higher than those of married ones (Table 9). In general, the fact that the cognitive behavioral physical activity level of e-sports players who choose the "sport" branch in terms of e-sports game types is higher than the average of the groups using other e-sports, highlights the interpretation that the movement potential in the content of conventional sports branches is effective in choosing this digital branch. In addition, it is thought that the digital game addiction levels of e-sports players in the group with high father education level were found to be significantly higher, making the relationship between education level and digital game commitment open to discussion.
