Abstract (EN)

This study aimed to investigate the effect of EBA supported and presentation mathematics teaching on the success of middle school 5th grade students in mathematics course, their attitudes towards mathematics and technology. A total of 138 fifth grade students, 72 experimental and 66 control groups, participated in the study. While the students in the control group were expository teaching, EBA-supported teaching was conducted in the experimental group. The study was carried out in the unit of "Natural Numbers and Natural Numbers İn The Fall" semester of 2018 – 2019 academic year. Multiple choice achievement test was applied before and after the application. Attitude scales related to mathematics and technology were applied in both groups before and after the application. The data obtained from achievement tests were evaluated using 3 X 2 repeated measures ANOVA. The data obtained were analyzed with SPSS 20.0 package program. Kolmogorov-Smirnov Z Test, Levene Test and independent sample t-test were used for data analysis. At the end of the study, a significant difference was found between the experimental group and the control group in terms of the natural numbers and success posttest scores in the natural unit in favor of the experimental group (t = 6,437; p = 0,000 <0.05). In addition, a significant difference was found in favor of the experimental group in the attitudes of the experimental group and control group towards mathematics (t = 2,509; p = 0,013 <0,05). There was no significant difference between pretest and posttest in the attitude towards technology in the experimental group. Key Words: EBA, math success, attitude towards mathematics, attitude towards technology 2019, 114 pages Science Code: 101
