Abstract (EN)

In this study, it was aimed to develop a valid, reliable and useful measurement tool for the storytelling self-efficacy beliefs of the parents in accordance with the storytelling techniques, and with this measurement tool, the storytelling self-efficacy beliefs of the parents who have children between the ages of 0-10 in the provinces of Konya-Nevşehir suitable for the storytelling techniques. It was aimed to examine self-efficacy levels in terms of different variables by determining the levels of self-efficacy. One of the quantitative research techniques used in the study is a descriptive survey model. Three different participant groups' data were employed during the study's execution. These groups consisted of 922 parents, with 351 exploratory factor analysis (AFA), 201 confirmatory factor analysis (DFA) and a final application with 371 participants. The data was analyzed using SPSS 23.0 and Amos Graphics software. The first phase of the study involved the creation of an item pool, the preparation of a form, and the expert evaluation of the candidate scale form by assessment and evaluation specialists and child development specialists. The candidate scale form was developed by making the necessary revisions following the evaluation of the expert comments. It was named as "Storytelling Self-Efficacy Belief Scale Appropriate to Parents` Storytelling Techniques" (SSEBSAPST). In the study, AFA, DFA, convergent validity examinations and analyzes were performed to determine the construct validity. As a result of the AFA application, 5 sub-dimensions were formed in 30 items. After completing all the necessary analysis for the study, it was foundout that the parents who have children between the ages of 0-10 in Konya and Nevşehir provinces had a good level of storytelling self-efficacy belief levels with a mean= 4.21. There was a substantial difference in each sub-dimension as a consequence of the analysis on the parenting role of the parents' level of storytelling self-efficacy in accordance with the technique. No significant difference was found regarding the variables of working-unemployment of the parents, types of occupation and income level. Analysis of the role of parenting in story telling and parental self efficacy by technique showed significant difference sacross all subdimensions. There were no significant difference samong the variable sof"employment status," "type of occupation," and "in come level". Analysis of agevariables revealed significant difference sin Factor 2 and Factor 5, but no significant differencesi not her factors. Analysis of educational variables showed no significant difference in Factor 4, but significant differencesi not her factors.
