Abu Bakr al-Haddâdi al-Yamâni's Kashū al-tanzil the methodology of fî tahkiqiki al-Mabâhîs wa't-ta'wili place in the history of tafsir

Our doctoral dissertation titled "The Place of Abu Bakr al-Haddādi al-Yamāni's Kashf al-tanzīl fī tahkīqīq al-mabaḥīq al-mebāḥis wa't-ta'wīl in the History of Tafsir" consists of an introduction, three chapters and a conclusion. In the introduction, the purpose, im-portance, methodology, and conceptual framework of the research are mentioned along with the sources utilized. In the first chapter, the political, social and cultural situation of the period in which the au-thor lived, his life, works and scholarly personality, and the tafsir culture of Yemen, where the author lived, were analyzed. In this context, the influence of the schools of thought in the geography where he lived on his tafsir in terms of its effect on his interpretation prac-tice and the sources that underpin the author's understanding of the Qur'an and his inter-pretation of the Qur'an were investigated. At the end of the research aimed at determining his sectarian identity, it was concluded that he was a follower of Ahl al-Sunnah belief, Ma-turidi in faith and Hanafi in deeds. The first part of the second chapter aims to analyze the background of al-Khaddādī's method of interpretation. After explaining Abu Bakr al-Haddādī al-Yamani's method of ex-egesis of the verses of the Qur'ān in terms of narration and authenticity, and his exegesis of the Qur'ān with the Qur'ān and the Qur'ān with the Sunnah, the sayings of the Sahāba, the tābiūn, the ṭābāʾūn, the ṭābāʾu't-tābiīn, and the interpretations of other commentators, the main elements of narrative exegesis, namely the determination of the meaning with the cause of nuzūl, naskh, and qiraat differences, are presented with examples. In the sec-ond part of the second chapter, the linguistic exegesis of the dirāyah aspect of interpreta-tion, the method of exegesis of the words of the Qur'ān, the issue of integrity in tafsīr, and the phenomenon of istishhad are discussed practically. In the third chapter, under the main title of Haddādī's approach to some controversial is-sues and problematic approaches to his tafsīr, it was tried to examine how Haddādī inter-preted the theological issues such as ruyatullah, istiva, imāmāmah, qadar, ka-za in order to reveal Haddādī's theological perspective in addition to issues such as naskh, mutasha-bih, isra and miraj, zahir, batin, which are discussed in the history of tafsīr and named as controversial issues. In addition, in this section, under this heading, we thought to discuss some of the author's approaches to the interpretation of the Qur'an, which may pose a problem in explaining and interpreting the Qur'an, in terms of method and content.
