Zuhd in the 1st and 2nd century ah within the frame of the abu Nuaym al-Isfahâni's work of Hilyah al-Awliya

In this work the famous biography writer Abu Nuaym al-Isfahânî's Hilyah al-Awliya deals within the first century of AH the information on the formation of Sufism. The subject of our work is in the first part Abu Nuaym al Isfahânî's life and his work. In the second part we put forth the controversial matters of Sufism and the approaches of zuhhad's in the work. These approaches are such as avoidance of administrative duties, seclusion, marriage, shapes of clothing. In the third part we tried to explain the method of nafs (self) striving and some concept of seyr suluk such as dhikr and how it is applied by zahids. In the last part we handled some subjects such as tawakkul, marifet, muhabbet, futuwwa within of hal and maqam. Thus we tried to abserve the contribution to the process of early period zuhhad's narratings. Moreover when we consider this work we can see the footprints of Sufism at very early period of the age.
