Abstract (EN)

We intend to carry out this thesis within the framework of the work "Ed-Dürru'l- Mesûn fî Ulumi'l-Kitabi'l Meknûn" by Semîn el-Halebî. In this book of his, Semîn el-Halebî reviews the Qur'an linguistically, and it is one of the chief interpretation works of Qur'an. The book, which was published in 11 volumes, examines Qur'an in terms of writing, syntax, rhetoric, wording, and recitation. With this study, our aim was to explore the metaphor subject, a subtopic of declaration subject under rhetoric, which holds tremendous value in the work of Semîn el-Halebî. The editor has analyzed the verses in terms of use of language and literature. In this respect, we will try to examine the verses related to the metaphor subject in the book of Semîn el-Halebîthat we have chosen as the subject of our thesis one by one, and we will go over them. The thesis consists of two parts. In the first part, we introduce the editor's life, his works, and the period in which he lived with his teachers from a scientific, political, and general point of view. In the second part of the thesis, we introduce and explain rhetoric, meaning, declaration, and the main subject of the thesis, metaphors respectively. We examine the main subject of our thesis, metaphors, in wider framework, and define its conceptual framework, historical development process, and study those who accepts and ignores the existence of metaphors in Qur'an, and in extent we identify the types of metaphors used in the work "Ed-Dürrü'l- Mesûnfî-Ulumi'l-Kitabi'lMeknûn"by Semîn el-Halebî. Lastly, we dwell upon how the editor approaches, and how and in what way he uses the main subject of our thesis, the metaphors. We have referenced and studied numerous resources and books for the thesis. With regards to their related subjects, some of these resources include "Ed-Dürru'l- Mesûnfî Ulumi'l-Kitâbi'lMeknûn" by Semîn el-Halebî, "Esrârü'l-Belâğa"and "Delâilu'l-İ'câz" by Abdülkâhir el-Cürcânî, "el-Keşşâf" by Zemahşeri, "Miftâhü'l-Ulûm"by Sekkakî, "İslâmAnsiklopedisi"by the Directorate of Religious Affairs.
