Edirne Selimiye Library writing works catalog review of conk registered at no. 22 sel 7168 classification according to MESTAP

-Conk is used in meanings such as ship, chieftain and big sailboat as the literal meaning of it. And it means poetry book that is opened from bottom to top and the poems chosen by people according to their tastes as the terms of literature. Conks are a kind of magazine and usuallly differ from magazines in terms if shape. As one of the important sources, Conks have an important place in determining the unknown poems of unheard poets among the sources or poets whose names are heard. Also conks provide dates, notes, historical and cultural informations at the time they were made between the pages of it by compiler. The conk we are examining is a 19th century conk in which different types of poems belonging to different poets were written. The conk contains 90 poems in total. There are mostly poems written in conk such as ode, kosma and divan forms. While the poets of 86 of poems located in the conk were determined, the pseudonyms of the poets who wrote 4 of them could not be determined. Among the poems found in the conk, those in the poets' dlvans were determined and compared. The centuries which poets lived, the verse forms of the poems and their numbers are shown in tables. There are short prose chapters on two pages of conk. It is estimated when the conk was written in the light of the dates noted in these prose chapters. Edirne Selimiye Library Manuscripts Catalogue number 22 SEL 7168 was classified according to the analysis-text and MESTAP. In the second part, the conk was given about it's content.
