Abstract (EN)
When working with spectrometric systems, the best of all experimental conditions may not be achieved. Therefore, the user should make preferences (FOM) among the features that he/she wants to be appropriate for the job. In order to obtain the most appropriate results in terms of precision and accuracy in the experimental measurements, different forms of usability should be considered. In this work, we have primarily investigated the effects and the sources of these factors, that we can characterize as the ꞌꞌunwanted contributionꞌꞌ to the spectra at hand in order to obtain the best experimental conditions for the EDXRF spectrometry method. Moreover, statistical measurements have been made to determine the stability of the test system on the overtopped measurements. The effects of different shaping times on the amplifier, different outputs and external mechanical noise on the net peak area to background (P/B) ratio have been determined. At the end of the study, new samples that have the same average atomic number but consisting no analytes have been prepared and the spectrum obtained from these samples under the same conditions have been subtracted from the original spectrum to improve the P/B ratio. In addition to that, the change of the detection limit based on different counting times has been analyzed.
