Abstract (EN)
This study has planned to evaluate the knowledge of medical staff who work in public service about vaccine which is improved in order to be protected from HPV known as caused cervical cancer comes second cancer type after breast cancer appeared among women nowadays.In fact great developments in diagnosis and medical treatment, cervical cancer stil exists as a very important health problem. Smoking, age, socio-economic level, sexual life, sexual partner, multiple pregnancies and all other sicknesses that spread by sexual intercourse has a role in cervical cancer. Keeping health is possible by fighting against the sickness and it is more beneficial starting this fight before the sickness arise. HPV vaccination is an important step about this issue.The research has been realized in Ege University Medical Faculty Hospital during the dates of February-December 2008. during this research face to face data collection and survey method is used. Survey is developed fort he purpose of determining socio-demographic characteristics and literature level of health workers. The survey is made, by giving information and taking permission, to health workers.SPSS 10.00 statics software was used to analyze the data gathered during the research. Statistical evaluation was done with Pearson Chi Square test.Survey results indicated that the majority of the health staff has information about HPV vaccine though they need an education about effects and side effects of the vaccine.Through the survey results, it is suggested that as there is no Standard education program is available, an education center and team should be established as the health staff should be given an education on the subject.
