m PHYTOSOCIOLOGICAL RESEARCH OF E?ERLİ MOUNTAIN (Doctorate Thesis) Arzu CANSARAN GAZİ UNIVERSITY INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY December 1999 ABSTRACT In this study the vegetation of Eğerli Mountain (Amasya) were investigated between 1996-1998. The study area is located on Eğerli Mountain which is a transitional area between the boundries of Central Anatolia and Middle Black Sea regions. From the phytogeographical point of view, it is situated between Euro-Siberian and Irano-Turanian floristic regions. The analysis of vegetation of the study area has been carried out according to Braun-Blanquet method and the plant associations were classified by taking characteristic species in consideration. In the study area, the following 8 plant associations and 2 subassociations have been described from three different vegetation types occured: A-Associations belonging to forest vegetation 1. Chamaecytiso pygmaei-Pinetum pallasianae Ass. Nova a.quercetosum hartwissianae subass. nova b.pinetosum pallasianae subass.nova 2. Petrorhagio olympicae-Pinetum sylvestris Ass.Nova B-Associations belonging to degraded forest vegetation 3. Populo tremulae-Qnercetum syspirensis Ass. NovaIV 4. Leontodonto asperi-Quercetum pubescentis Ass. Nova 5. Aceri campestres-Carpinetum betuli Ass. Nova 6. Trifolio hirti-Cistetum lavrifolii Ass. Nova. 7. Salvio tomentosae- Rhoetum coriariae Ass. Nova C-Associations belonging to steppe vegetation 8. Stachyi byzantinae-Astragaletum microcephali Ass. Nova.
