Abstract (EN)

In this study the results of simply supported three point bend beams of different sizes containing notch at the mid span are reported. The specimens were made of normal concrete, high strength concrete, light weight concrete and steel fiber concrete with maximum aggregate size 10 mm. Beams of the three different length ( 200, 400 and 800 mm) and three different heights (40, 80 and 160 mm) were tested. The beams were geometrically similar in two dimensions. The results reveal the size effect which can be approximately proposed by Bazant. Key Words :Size effect, fracture energy, brittle, ductile, fracture zone, crack, failure
