Abstract (EN)
All the societies are involved in a continuous transformation process: from pre-agricultural society to agricultural society, from an agricultural society to industrial society and from an industrial society to information society. While these transformations take place, the current systems of the societies have been changed as well. However, during the transformation process of the societies to higher societies they face the obstacles caused by their systems. In this context, this study investigated the obstacles to the transformation into information society education of Turkey. The method used in this study was the descriptive analysis. In the first part of this study, the types of societies were explained; in the second part, the model of this study was analyzed. In the third Part, the issues deriving from the Social and cultural factors preventing Turkey from transforming into an information society, Education philosophies, Education programs, education environments in the schools, Lecture books, Education theory-model, strategy, method and techniques, Educator and Student profile, Educator training order, lack of Information production, consumption of information and failure to spread information, Schooling rates, non-democratization, insufficiency of Elementary, Middle, High and postgrad education, lack of foreign language skills, Media, lack of virtual library, Service sector, lack of high level thinking skills, lack of Occupational training and Virtual Universities with regards to education. In the fourth Part, the solution model that will eliminate the Social and cultural factors, Education philosophies appropriate to Information society training, how the Education programs updated as per the Information society training, exemplary models of the education environment in schools, lectures and books necessary to be present as per information society training, education theory-model required to be used in information society training, methods and techniques, educator and student model appropriate to information society, solution model with regards to training educator that will form information society as per the training standards of information society that will ensure transformation of Turkey into an information society with regards to education. Also, the solution model that will ensure production, consumption and information spread of information, solution model that will increase schooling rates, solution model that will shift Elementary, Middle, High and postgrad education into becoming compliant with information society, solution model that will enhance foreign language skills, solution model for improving virtual libraries and virtual universities in quantity and quality, solution model that will enhance Service sector, occupational training model that will train information workers to information society, how the media should be, solution model towards democratization that will enhance national unity and cooperation and how high level thinking skills can be gained to individuals are examined in fourth part. Finally, in the fifth part, the study is completed with indicating the result and suggestions.
