Étude des problèmes de prononciation par le biais de la notion d'habitus chez les étudiants dans les classes préparatoires de la faculté de pédagogie

This research was performed to analyse the French pronunciation problems of turkishstudents and to represent the results by Pierre Bourdieu?s conception called Habitus. The creationof the study was composed of the students from preparatory classes of Hacettepe Universty in2009-2010 academic year. We selected some texts on the basis of some criterias from the book« Scénario » and we recorded the voices as the sudents were reading the selected parts.We anaylzed these recordings and we determined the pronunciation mistakes that thestudents frequently commit. We also classified the subjects that caused the most of the problems.We discussed the subjects with examples.The study has two major parts. In the first part, differences between Turkish and French phonetics/ phonology systems and Pierre Bourdieu?s Habitus conception are explained. In the second part,we examined if the regional-cultural differences cause a problem in the pronunciation with therecordings we had done during readings.This study has proved that the students who had been raised in different regions andcultures have pronunciation problems because of their regional style of pronunciation whilelearning a foreign language.
