Faculty of education science teacher candidates 'energy resources and environmental effects' investigation of knowledge levels

In this study, faculty of education of science teachers in the fields of energy resources and the environmental impact is to investigate the level of knowledge. The purpose of science and technology education; individual environmental recognition, like, protection, improvement and adaptation to changing environmental conditions is to bring awareness. Accordingly, prospective teachers' level of knowledge on these issues and the importance given to the subject in order to determine the level of achievement test was administered. The study sample in the 2012-2013 academic year studying at universities in Turkey 3 consisted of 497 science teachers. Science Teachers' energy sources and environmental impacts in order to determine the level of knowledge on the subject of research was used in the screening model. From the results obtained; as the success of the university's student teachers' knowledge about the environment has been shown to affect the levels. Energy resources sub-dimension of the level of knowledge of male students was higher than the level of knowledge of female students has concluded that. With the increase in the level of income related to the concepts of energy and energy sources concluded that the level of knowledge has increased. Higher levels of education of family members and the family's prosperity is directly proportional with the increase in the level of knowledge has increased. Good knowledge of high school graduates in the field of education of the graduates of other high schools were higher than the level of knowledge. Secondary candidates with a good knowledge of science achievement levels are higher than other candidates' knowledge level was observed.
