The relationship between faculty of education students' vocational personality types and five factor personality traits

The aim of this research is to find the relationship between faculty of education students' occupational personality types and five factor personality traits. The sample of the study was 323 students who continued their education at Inonu University Faculty of Education in spring semester of 2016-2017. In this research "Vocational Personality Types Inventory" was used to collect data about students' occupational personality types. "Big Five Inventory (BFI)" was used to determine personality traits. Results of this study indicated that conscientiousness trait is related to conventional type (r =.45) and social type (r= .33); agreeableness trait is related to social type (r= 0.52) and conventional type (r = .30); openness trait is related to artistic type (r = .34); extraversion trait is related to social type (r =.33) and artistic type (r =.34) and these correlations are moderately significant (p<0.05).
