Abstract (EN)

Schools are the centres of the community; they are recognized and followed by the most of the community. Besides educational aims, schools serve for local aims by providing a focus for society. In order to provide a high performance, considering the new structure or refurbishment school facilities should provide insistent examples. These schools include safe, sustainable, healthy and energy saving spaces.A good education consists of a lot of factors such as teachers, parents, standards, disciplines and motivation, etc. However, the school buildings where students grow and learn have also a crucial role.We know that clean, tranquil, comfortable and healthy environments are the important parts of successful learning and teaching. However, we don?t know which facilities affect the academically output most, how and what degree they affect learning. Therefore in this study, the value of physical spaces of educational facilities has been explained and the quality of air conditioning, thermal comfort, lighting, acoustic, health and security issues that affect productivity have been analyzed. The physical problems in school buildings have been a resource for the studies. With a view to the effects of these issues on education and the relationship with students? learning, a literature review has been developed by considering the latest researches.Key words: Space Management, Physical Environment, School Space, Sustainability, School health.
