Abstract (EN)

This study was conducted to examine the impact of the organizational culture on the perceived leadership styles of managers of the instructors working in university preparatory classes.The universe of this study is 1252 English Instructor at 9 states and 38 private universities in Istanbul in 2013-2014 academic year. The sampling of this study is 226 people who have been identified by cluster sampling within this general universe. For the study data, "Personal Information Form", "Organizational Culture Scale" and "Leadership Styles Scale" have been used. The scale consists of three parts. On the first part, there is personal information. On the second part, there are 37 attitude statements to assess organizational culture and on the third part, there are 45 assessment statements to assess the perceived leadership styles.The data obtained from the scale is decoded and analyzed with the help of SPSS package program in computer. Concerning the obtained data of the first part of the scale, the frequency and percentage distributions were taken. In order to determine instructors' attitudes and perceptions, arithmetic mean and standard deviation were used, to reveal attitude differences on binary comparisons "t" test was used, on more than two sets of variables comparison, one-way ANOVA and Kruskal Wallis - H test were used .Whether there was any significant differences among opinions or not was analyzed in α = 0.05 significance level. Also, Pearson correlation analysis was used to determine associative connections.The findings of the study are as follows;1. It is found out that there is no significant difference among the groups according to instructors' organizational culture scale scores to variables of gender, marital status, graduation, university type, and duty at total scale and sub-scales.2. It is found out that there is a significant difference among groups according to instructors' organizational culture scale scores to age, seniority, and number of teachers.3. After the independent samples "T"test, which is done to find out whether there is a significant difference according to instructors' leadership styles scale scores to variables of gender, age, seniority, graduation and duty, the differences among the groups' arithmetic mean are found significant at no sub-scales.4. It is found out that there is a significant difference according to instructors' leadership styles scale scores to variables of marital status, number of teachers of.5. By carrying out organizational culture scale and leadership style scale, the relation of instructors' perception is found significant in a positive way between total culture scale and transformational leadership.
