Abstract (EN)
The study aims to contribute to the field of educational science by investigating faculty members thoughts on the current condition of Curriculum and Instruction post-graduate programme. In the study, the faculty members? thoughts on Curriculum and Instruction post-graduate programme (MA and Ph.D) in Turkey in 2012-2013 academic year were received. The instrument of the study was developed by researcher as structured interview form including two parts. The study is a phenemenological desing of qualitative method. The universe of the study involves the all of the faculty members working in state Universities which have Curriculum and Instruction post-graduate programme (MA and Ph.D) in Turkey in 2012-2013. The researcher aimed to study with faculty members working in state universities which have Curriculum and Instruction post-graduate programme. The population of the study includes 261 faculty members who work in state universities which have Curriculum and Instruction post-graduate programme. For this purpose, researcher reached the faculty members through their contact information on their universities websites. 90 faculty members participated in the study which conducted on the basis of volunteering and the study group of the study is defined as 90 participants. The results of the study show that the aim of the Curriculum and Instruction post-graduate programmes are educating curriculum experts who have qualifications for working both for public and private sectors and have abilities to bring solutions for educational problems. Another result shows that the function of the Curriculum and Instruction post-graduate programmes are providing education in post-graduate level, pedogogy education for other programmes and developing, implementing and evaluating curriculum both with public and private sectors. Perceived profile of Curriculum and Instruction programmes are seen as problematic by others and the qualities of graduted students are perceived as insufficent because of their lack of prerequsite abilities. Another result of the study shows that thesis written in the programme corollary resemble with the thesis in other programmes in many aspects. And final result of the study reveals that most of the participants find the education in the post-graduate programme of Curriculum and Instruction sufficent and at the same time paticipants find the future of the programme is promising.
