Abstract (EN)

The education community is the most important actor in the education and training activities of Syrian students under temporary protection status who escaped from the civil war in their country and took refuge in Turkey. Education unions are non-governmental organizations consisting of educators and representing educators. With this study, it is aimed to discuss the views of the education unions on the educational activities of Syrian students under temporary protection status and to reveal the differences and similarities of the views of the unions, if any. Education Unions, which can be regarded as the pioneers and even shapers of the society as non-governmental organizations, are in an important position of power in the education community and even throughout the country in terms of the member potential they represent. This research was carried out in the phenomenology design, which is one of the qualitative research designs. The four big unions, Eğitim Bir Sen, Türk Eğitim Sen, Eğitim Sen and Eğitim İş unions, selected as the sample and of which 66% of the current education workers are registered members, can produce policies in other fields besides education. The sample selection of the working group was determined by taking into account the active presence of trade unions in all provinces throughout Turkey. Eğitim Bir Sen, Türk Eğitim Sen, Eğitim Sen and Eğitim İş unions were determined as samples. In this study, which was conducted with the union managers in Gaziantep, where Syrians are dense with 17%, data were collected by interview technique. As a result of the research, it was revealed that the unions gave both the same answers and different answers to the same questions. It has been revealed that unions whose approaches to unionism seem close to each other have different ideas, and that unions whose approaches to unionism do not overlap may have similar ideas.
