Examination of expectation and observation levels regarding the realization of the goals of education systems

In this study, it was aimed to examine the realization level of the aims of education systems through the opinions of administrators and teachers. In line with this purpose, the study group of the study consisted of 412 teachers and administrators working in public primary, secondary and high schools in Osmangazi, Nilüfer and Yıldırım districts of Bursa province in theacademicyear 2020-2021. There search is a descriptive research in scanning model using quantitative research methods. The data collection toolused in the study was named as "Scale of the Realization Level of Educational Systems Objectives". It was developed by researcher. The scaleused in the study consists of three parts: personal information, observation opinions about the realization level of the goals of education systems, and expectation views about the realization of the goals of education systems. Arithmetic mean, standard deviation, t test, one way analysis (ANOVA), Kruskal Wallis H test, Mann Whitney U test and Index method were used to analyze the data of the study. The observation levels of the teachers and administrators working in primary, secondary and high schools with in the scope of the study regarding the realization of the aims of the education systems in general; It was determined at the highest level in the ideological dimension (x̄= 4.69,Sd=1.64), in the political dimension (x̄ = 4.48,Sd=1.66) and the lowest in the economic dimension (x̄ = 3.99,Sd=1.74). In addition, the same group's opinions were consulted about the expectation views of the general education systems' goals; It was measured at the highest level (x̄ = 6.33,Sd=1.29) in the economic dimension, at the level of the political dimension (x̄ = 6.22, Sd=1.36) and the lowest level in the ideological dimension (x̄ = 6.18,Sd=1.38). According to the analysisresults of the opinions of the teachers and administrators working in public primary, secondary and high schools; it was calculated that the values for the "PoliticalGoals" parameter, OI (Observation Index) = 4,49, EI (Expectation Index)=6,22 and ROI (Real Observation Index) =%50; the values for the "Ideological Goals" parameter, OI = 4.72, EI = 6.18 and ROI = 54%, and the values for the "Economic Goals" parameter, OI = 4.00 EI = 6.32 and ROI= 44%. Observation opinions about the purposes of education systems have a high eraverage value in male participants than female participants and male participants perceive the realization of the aims of education systems at a higher level than female participants. When the same goals are considered with the education level variable, no statistical difference was observed between the groups. Based on tasks, school principal shave a higher level of observations regarding the realization of the aims of education systems than teachers. Considering the relationship between the branches of the participants in the study and their observation opinions about the purposes of education systems, it is seen that classroom teacher shave higher average values than other branch teachers in all meaningful relationships. According to the findings for the seniority variable, when the averages obtained with in the framework of the meaningful relationship are examined, it is the group with the highest average in the observation opinions of the participants with seniority between 6-10 years regarding the purposes of education systems.
