An investigation of the opinions of educational technology specialists on the features that learning management systems must have

The aim of this study is to examine and evaluate the opinions of educational technology specialists about the criteria that learning management systems should have. The research was carried out by employing the basic qualitative research design, which is one of the qualitative research methods. The people who will participate in the research were selected using the homogeneous sampling technique, which is one of the purposive sampling techniques. The participant group consists of experts living in various provinces of Turkey who have worked or have worked as educational technology specialists and have at least a master's degree in the field of educational technologies. Research data were carried out between 12.09.2022 and 10.10.2022. A total of 11 experts participated in the study and it was tried to obtain the criteria that learning management systems should have in the analysis phase. In this process, interviews consisting of 6 questions were held between the researcher and educational technology experts. Data were collected during the interview with a semi-structured data collection tool. Qualitatively obtained data were analyzed using the thematic analysis technique. The data obtained from the research provides a criterion for learning management systems and includes various suggestions for researchers and practitioners.
