The effect of transformational leadership behaviors of educational managers on teachers 'motivation

The main purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of transformational leadership behaviors of educational administrators on teachers' motivation. According to the opinions of the teachers in the research; whether there is any relationship between transformational leadership behavior levels of teachers, motivation levels of teachers and transformational leadership behaviors of education managers and motivation levels of teachers were examined. In addition to demographic variables such as gender, seniority, and marital status, the teachers' opinions were analyzed according to the study time with the education manager and school type. In this research, relational screening model was used. The population of the research consists of 10,905 teachers working in official public schools of Aksu, Kepez, Konyaaltı and Muratpaşa districts of Antalya. The sample consisted of 393 teachers selected by random sampling among the public schools in these four districts. In the data collection process of the research, two scales, Mottaz's (1985) Job Motivation Scale and Oran's (2002) Transformational Leadership Scale were applied to the teachers. According to the findings; According to teachers' opinions, teachers' motivation levels and educational managers' transformational leadership behaviors were found high. According to the teachers' gender variable, a low level of significant difference was found in the total of intrinsic motivation and job motivation. In addition, according to the type of schools where teachers work, differentiation was found in total of work motivation and its sub-dimensions. According to the opinions of the teachers, it was found that the school principals' level of showing transformational leadership significantly differed based on the variables of the teachers' working time with training directors and school type variances. A positive and weak correlation was found between the work motivation of teachers and the level of transformational leadership behaviors of the slope managers according to the teachers' opinions.
