Abstract (EN)
Nations are in competition with each other in order to reach the level of development of developed countries. The countries that researched how they will win this race examined the differences in development levels, the factors affecting development and observed the linear effects of human capital on development. According to economists, increasing the education level of individuals increases productivity. Increased productivity has social, political and economic impacts. These effects have been found to affect development in a linear direction. The aim of this study was to examine the effects of education on development through the example of Turkey and the European Union. European Union countries and Turkey, which include the impact of education on economic development using annual data for the 2006-2015 period for 29 countries is examined. Panel data regression analysis was used in the study. According to the findings of the analysis, a significant positive relationship was observed between economic development and education indicators in the long run.
