Abstract (EN)
This research was designed with the aim of performing a content analysis on the theses studied in the Department of Social and Historical Foundations of Education between the years 2002-2019. For this basic purpose, a document review was carried out considering 94 theses in the field of Department of Social and Historical Foundations of Education by searching the thesis database of YÖK. A content analysis was carried out on the obtained documents in the context of methodological and subject matter. According to the analysis results, most of the thesis studies in the Social and Historical Foundations of Education were conducted in 2010 and 2019 field while the dominant used research model in theses was the scanning model. It was determined that the sample unit of the theses was mostly the documents, the most multi-purpose sampling was used in the theses, and the literature review was mostly preferred in the collection of data. The analyzes also showed that the theses studied in the field of Social and Historical Foundations of Education were predominantly in the Social Foundations of Education sub-dimension in the context of the subject.
