Educational games impact on children of Turks living in Germany to learn Turkish success

Abstract (EN)
This research was conducted to determine the effect of educational games on Turkish learning achievement of Turkish children living in Germany. For this purpose, the experimental group (30 students) participated in the Turkish and Turkish culture lessons in Nürnbeg Holzgarten Schule, Ziegelstein Schule, Erlangen Pestalozzi Schule, Erlangen Emmy Noether Gymnasium and Auerbach Mittelschule in the Federal Republic of Germany in 2015-2016 academic year and control group (30 students) were selected and a total of 60 students were practiced. In the experimental and control group determined by random; according to the gender of the students, class level and numbers. In the study, Turkish and Turkish culture lessons were presented to the students in the experimental group with educational games; the students in the control group were presented with lessons according to the curriculum in practice. It was conducted at the beginning of the evaluation test, which was composed of 20 questions, prepared by the researcher as a data collection tool in the research and at the end of the application and 30 days after the application to measure persistence. In addition, an educational game attitude scale was used to determine the attitudes of the students about the courses made with educational games. Data; comparisons between point averages of descriptive values for groups were analyzed using t test for related samples in SPSS 22 program. As a result of the research, it was observed that the group in which the Turkish and Turkish culture lessons were presented with educational games was more successful than the group in which the traditional course presentation was made, and that the educational game-supported course presentation provided the permanence of the learned information and increased the students'.
