Energy management in eco-industrial parks: Ostim OIZ case study

Abstract (EN)

Within changing global competition conditions, the purpose of this project is to suggest methods to transform conventionally formed industrial parks into eco industrial parks to create resource efficiency in production.With the help of simulation program and in the territory of the OSTİM Organised Industrial Zone centered virtual park which consists of ten SMEs,comparisons were made on the basis of the incoming material and the output product between the traditional parks making traditional production and the eco endustrial parks making raw materials-waste sharing production.The product quantities of the companies witihin 1 day, 30 day 180 day and 360 day production scenarios and the changes in the materials used in production, have been determined.In a comparison of a traditional park and EEP, on the basis of machining there has been an increase of %0,4 , while on the other hand an increase of %1,4 has been spotted in the quantitiy of products produced in the park consisting of ten enterprises.This rise of production in similar enterprises has shown that there is an increasing production efficiency at a higher rate in industrial zones with enterprises having diverse production processes to complement each other. The first step to transform an eco industrial park is to follow regularly datas taken from the companies located in the region and to build strong, social, environmental and economical bonds between them. In this way, the competitiveness of the enterprises which will experience the process of transition from linear economy to circular economy will increase.
