The relationship of eco tourism with demographic variables: Example of Ordu province

The main purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between ecotourism and demographic variables. The study consists of two parts. In the first part; What is the concept of eco-tourism, its historical development, features, effects on the environment, its relations with local people and eco-tourism types, general information about Ordu province and eco-tourism areas. In the second part of the research, there is the research part carried out to examine the relationships between the concepts in question. The questionnaire to determine the relationships between ecotourism and demographic variables was applied to 400 local people residing in Altmordu (Center) district of Ordu. The data obtained in the research were analyzed with the SPSS 20.0 (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) program. From statistical methods in the analysis and interpretation of data; reliability analysis, percentage, frequency, arithmetic mean, standard deviation, analysis of variance, independent t-test were used. The most obvious result of the study is that demographic variables directly affect the local people's perspectives on eco tourism.
