The mediating role of attitude in the effect of ecological worldview, knowledge and values on environmental product purchase intention

As the issue of sustainability has changed consumption habits globally, there has been a significant increase in consumers' demand for sustainable and eco-friendly products. These changes in the demand for sustainable and environmental products have pushed businesses to understand the factors that influence consumers' environmental purchasing behaviour. It is seen that many sectors, including the cosmetics sector, are affected by this change. This study was conducted to examine the effect of ecological worldview, knowledge and values on the purchase intetion of skin care products produced no animal testing. The mediating role of attitudes towards environmental behaviour in this relationship was also tested. The model of the study was tested by means of SPSS Programme Process Macro plug-in with the data obtained from 309 female participants over the age of 18 through online and face-to-face convenience sampling method. As a result; ecological worldview, environmental knowledge and biospheric values have an effect on purchase intentions of skin care products produced without animal testing and there is a mediating effect of attitude towards environmental behaviour in this relationship. According to the results of research, some theoretical and practical implications are presented.
