Özet (EN)
Economic growth is the long-term increase in the supply of all goods and services produced in a country. One of the most important factors of growth is the labor factor. Increasing labor productivity is possible with the effective use of human resources. In this context, female employees participating in the workforce are an important determinant of economic growth. The aim of this study is to examine the place of women in the labor market in Turkey and to reveal the existence of the relationship between economic growth and female labor force. In the first part of the study, the concept of economic growth will be included; in the second part, the structure and characteristics of the female workforce in Turkey will be explained with the help of numerical data. In the last part, the direction and existence of the causality relationship between the GDP and the marital status factor affecting the female workforce between the 1998-2020 periods will be tested with the Granger Causality method.
