Extensive tourism planning should be carried out in order to evaluate, protect and develop these resources. The development of tourism as unplanned and environmentally insensitive can cause irreparable losses to tourism regions. Alternative tourism types such as ecotourism should be evaluated for sustainability in tourism. Ecotourism aims to provide visitors with the opportunity to live in natural, historical and cultural beauties while being sensitive to the environment and to discover these values without damaging them. The changes in tourism shape the needs and expectations of tourists. Especially people living in metropolitan areas prefer to spend their holidays in nature, in places that offer calm and new experiences. Glamping offers luxury and comfort in the nature while offering different accommodation options. It offers a variety of recreational activities that bring new experiences to tourists. The aim of this study is to explain the concept of ecotourism, its principles, types and impact areas as an alternative to sustainable tourism development. The results of the quest for change and innovation in the demand of tourists reshaped to put forward the concept of glamping based camping, glamping to identify the current state of tourism in the world and Turkey and to examplify. To determine the ecotourism potential of Datça and to investigate the applicability of ecotourism-focused glamping in Datça. The development of tourism and the characteristics of tourism enterprises in Datça was examined and interviewed by an accommodation company operating in the Kızılbük Bay of Mesudiye village. SWOT analysis of Datça was performed and it was determined that the ecotourism potential of Datça was extremely high. Extensive tourism planning based on the resource utilization balance should be made in the region. The existing and new establishments should contribute to the development of tourism by providing services that protect the environment and the nature. Public, visitors and tourism enterprises should be made aware of this issue. It is determined that Glamping enterprises, which protects the natural structure and uses the accommodation architecture suitable for nature, are suitable for tourism development in Datça.
